Take a stroll

Single channel video, animation and acrylic sheet
4’30’’, 20’25’’
2020

Take a stroll is a work consists of animation, single channel video and sculpture. The 3 parts present different viewpoint and methodology of this work. The animation camouflages as exit sign above the door frame. Occasionally, you would see the man runs forwards and disappear from the door in the exit sign. Later on, he appears again, but soon he gets distracted by a dog, he then run after it. However, the man and the dog never leave the space within the monitor. The single channel video was a collaboration with a former stray dog – Gili. Through Gili’s seeing point and movement, we explore the space which seems been abandoned from outside world and without human being. Throughout the video, there is neither human nor other species, until in the last, Gili runs towards the space facing the sounds from outside. The last part of work, the yellow, irregular shape acrylic sculpture lay on the floor, it was come the idea while Gili were shooting the video, it was his remark also the only biological traces (but an imitation) of the exhibition.
